A study of a Romanesque basilica, its bell tower and rose window rendered in patient, slightly naive detail against a flat cerulean sky. The colonnade and piazza in the foreground are emptied of figures, giving the painting a hushed, dreamlike quality that recalls the streets of Assisi at midday. Framed in a clean, blonde oak molding.
